Aquarium Exhibits - Featuring 19 Habitats and 32 Exhibits
The Long Beach Aquarium is home to more than 12,500 seas dwelling animals. Representing nearly 500 marine species, the Aquarium celebrates the planet's largest and most diverse body of water, the Pacific Ocean. Featuring 19 marine habitats and 32 focus exhibits, the Aquarium of the Pacific is a world-class aquarium, exploring the waters of Southern California and Baja, the Northern Pacific, and the Tropical Pacific Ocean.
In addition to the three main marine biology galleries highlighting the major regions of the Pacific, the Aquarium features three major exhibitions. Shark Lagoon and the Lorikeet Forest aviary offer an outdoor adventure in Explorer's Cove. Our special exhibits gallery features changing exhibits and will surprise you on your next visit.
Welcome to the Log Beach Aquarium
The Long Beach Aquarium is a centerpiece of the Pike at Rainbow Harbor, the largest waterfront development in California history. Guests to the Aquarium can take advantage of the surrounding beautiful Long Beach area. Located only minutes from trendy Pine Avenue in Downtown Long Beach, the Long Beach Convention Center, the Queen Mary, Belmont Shore (Long Beach's charming and quaint beach community), and hotels, tourists will find the Aquarium convenient to anywhere in Long Beach they wish to visit. Guests with disabilities can check out a free audio tour from the Information Desk to enhance their visit to the Aquarium of the Pacific. Service animals are welcome, but for safety and courtesy reasons, non-service animals are not permitted in the Aquarium.
Directions to the Long Beach Aquarium
Vehicle directions to the Aquarium from Los Angeles:
Take the 405 S to 710 S and follow signs to the aquarium.
Directions to the Aquarium from Orange County:
Take the 405 N to the 22 West/7th Street Exit
Continue on 7th Street for approximately 8 miles
Turn left on Alamitos and follow the signs to the aquarium.
Parking at the Long Beach Aquarium
The parking structure for the Long Beach Aquarium is on the water side of Shoreline Drive between Chestnut Place and Aquarium Way. Parking is $7 for Aquarium guests in both the Aquarium and Pike parking structures when you show an Aquarium ticket stub. From the 710 Freeway, follow direction signs to the Aquarium. The entrance to Aquarium parking is on the right on Shoreline just before the roller coaster bridge at Aquarium Way. From the south, take Shoreline Drive to Aquarium Way. Left on Aquarium Way. The entrance is on the right 100 feet beyond the dolphin fountain. Additional parking: When the Aquarium lot is full, you will be directed to The Pike parking structure. The entrance is on Chestnut and Shoreline, just across the street from the Aquarium's main lot. Bring comfortable walking shoes to enjoy your visit.
